Rename C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX to something like C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX_Orig You might want to go to the next step and rename the folder that contains the scenery.cfg file, that way you'll not only get a new file, you'll also get a new folder of new files and the scenery indexes will also be rebuilt. Spot on, rename the file and the next time FSX-SE is started it will generate a new clean file.
Since I have never had to do this in my 15 years of FSX, do you mean to just rename the current scenery.cfg file scenerybak.cfg for a back up and restart SE and it will generate a new scenery.cfg? I'd like to try this first. I have never messed with the scenery files, and have read all you have to do is delete the scenery.cfg folder and a SE restart will generate the new scenery.cfg files. That's when I discovered this error warning although my view problem was fixed. After trying everything I could think of, I uninstalled SE and reinstalled it. I installed my PMDG 747 and developed a problem with the views on my three monitors. I got all my favorite programs installed and started installing aircraft. Everything has gone very well with the Steam program.

I decided to install FSX SE to hold me over. I became somewhat flustered with P3D while trying to add Radar Contact and some of my other favorites.

In Dec 17, I purchased a new PC which came with P3D4.1 and Windows 10. In my FSX root folder I have an Addon Scenery folder containing the empty scenery and texture folders. In my FSX scenery folder, I have 103 folders. I have 120 areas (1 thru 120) in my Scenery.cfg folder.
